Surgery News

We wanted to let you all know about some recent developments for Micah. Yesterday we went in for an Upper GI to check on Micah's fundo surgery (the reflux surgery that keeps his food in him). He's been refluxing and more has been coming out than is supposed to be able to. Once they got a look at him it was discovered that 50% of his stomach has pushed through a large hernia and is in his diaphragm. This is not good and is able to be fixed. The GI clinic is in the process of getting the referral to the surgeon and we will get an appointment with the surgeon ASAP, hopefully by late today. We will then be scheduled for surgery. I'm hoping this will be able to be fixed laproscopically and an outpatient procedure. Our surgeon is known for acting quickly so pray for this to be possible.

Micah is also scheduled for eye surgery on Jan. 24th. This was just scheduled yesterday. It's a simple outpatient procedure to loosen a muscle so it will not pull his eye the wrong way. This could change depending on the outcome of the above surgery.

Overall, we are thankful the stomach issue was caught when it was and can see God's hand in it all. As stressful as it all is we can see how he's been protected along the way. Please keep all this in your prayers and we will keep you updated as we have info.
